Thank you for your interest in our Mental Health Literacy courses!

If you are registered in one of our courses, you may want to consider demonstrating your achievement by opting for a certificate of completion.

The certificate will be sent to you as a digital copy in PDF format 2-3 weeks upon completion of your course – available for you to share and print as you please!


How much does a certificate cost?

CAD $50 + GST per course.

Why should I get a certificate?

People opt for certificates for various reasons. Certificates are sometimes used to demonstrate professional development to an employer or as an addition to a resume. The PDF certificate will confirm your successful completion of the course, and includes your name, the date of the offering and signatures from the course authors.

Why is there a cost to certificates?

Although the courses are 100% free to take, the cost of certificates helps support their long-term accessibility and sustainability, as they are hosted online for thousands around the world to take.

Can I sign up for a certificate after beginning the course?

Yes, on the homepage of the course there is a link to upgrade to a certificate. Alternatively, after you complete the course, you will also be able to fill out a certificate upgrade form.

How will I receive my certificate?

Your certificate will be sent to you in an email from mh.educ@ubc.ca and will be attached as a PDF. This document can then be shared or printed as you please.

When will I receive my certificate?

The certificate will be sent to you 2-3 weeks upon completion if you have reached the passing threshold. Please also check your spam or junk mail. If it has been more than 2-3 weeks and you have not received your certificate, please contact mh.educ@ubc.ca to let us know.

Most of the time, certificates are not received because registrants have either not reached the passing threshold to receive a certificate, or have registered on UBCxOnline with a different email they used to process their payment for a certificate.

Can I get a receipt of my certificate payment?

Your receipt should have been emailed to you when you made the initial payment for a certificate. If you cannot find this, please email us at mh.educ@ubc.ca to let us know and we will resend your receipt to the email you used to process your payment.
