Programs approved for Category 5+
PDCE programs may be used for advancement within the TQS categories, and there are a few options to help you get there. We strongly advise that you check with the TQS to confirm your options before you enrol in a program.
What is Five Plus Category?
The Five Plus category is administered by the TQS. If the TQS awards a five plus category, then school districts will honor that placement. Visit the Five Plus FAQ on the TQS website for more information on this category.
How Can You Get a Five Plus Category?
- Diploma Program (30 credits). The Faculty of Education offers Diploma programs in many specialized areas. PDCE works with school districts to deliver off-campus diploma programs in areas that are needed in that district. - Certificate Programs. It may be possible to augment 2 certificates with additional course work to meet the requirements of the 5+ category. Before enrolling, confirm with the TQS that the certificates and courses you are interested in will meet the requirements.
