Senior Associate Dean, Administration, Faculty Affairs & Innovation

Dr. Mary K. Bryson was appointed Senior Associate Dean, Administration, Faculty Affairs & Innovation, in the Faculty of Education, effective July 1, 2016, for a five-year term.

Dr. Bryson holds a joint appointment with the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Arts, and is a Professor in the Department of Language and Literacy Education and in the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice (GRSJ). Most recently, Dr. Bryson held the appointment of GRSJ Director (2012-2015). Throughout Mary’s 27 years at UBC, they have served in many senior administrative roles in the Faculty and the University, which articulate a trajectory of significant budgetary and personnel senior leadership experience that they bring to this critical leadership position in the Faculty of Education, Dean’s Office. In Dr. Bryson’s new role as Senior Associate Dean, Administration and Innovation, they provide the Dean’s senior leadership team with high-level support and advice in the areas of administration infrastructures and innovation, and assist with the ongoing development and implementation of our strategic plan.
