Welcome to “Professional Development & Community Engagement” at UBC’s Faculty of Education. The creation of Professional Development & Community Engagement (PDCE) signals the Faculty of Education’s increased commitment to serving educators and communities locally, provincially, nationally, and globally.

Our Mandate

The mandate of PDCE is to work collaboratively with academic units in the Faculty of Education and outside groups to offer innovative programs that respond to the learning needs of educators in British Columbia and elsewhere. These programs are delivered using a variety of formats and in locations convenient for busy professionals.

Our aim is to design and deliver programs in a way that permits academic staff and program participants to concentrate on the learning experience rather than administrative details. We welcome inquiries from individuals and groups who may wish to discuss credit or non-credit programs tailored to the needs and circumstances of educators working in schools, colleges, universities and the community. I invite you to explore our website to see the range of programs offered and the kinds of services we provide. If you have a question or would like to explore a program idea, please feel free to contact us.
